Got my copy today. I was a bit sceptical, thinking that a DVD wouldn't have that much information compared to a book and I already know French theory quite well.

But I must say I was very positively surprised by both its quality and the nice personal approach, clearly recommended to everyone!

I received mine over the weekend - so far only covered the introduction and the Advance variation.

In general i think it is very good.  Simon presents at a good speed.  As you would expect the theory isn't particularly dense (as is the case in all video formats) but gives you enough to get going.  I suspect that stronger players will feel that they need to supplement what is provided with a bit more meat.

The official release date for the US and Canada 'Killer French' DVDs was pushed back to 15th August but we are making every effort to have them released before then.

I will keep you updated as soon as I have more information.  Wink

Thanks for the update.

Which brings up the obvious followup question - How long can we Americans expect to wait for it to be available here?  Tongue

This Killer French could make a killing at the stores.  Wink

I'm looking forward to the follow-up DVDs: 'The Killer Kalashnikov', 'The Killer Catalan', 'The Killer Spanish', and finally 'The Anti-Killer Repertoire'.  Cheesy

I do wonder what he recommends against 3.e5 c5 4.c3 Nc6 5.Be3 - 5...Bd7 or 5...Nge7?

GingerGM sent me an email this morning, it seems the release has been delayed.

"Thank you for your recent purchase of the 'Killer French' DVD. There will be a slight delay in us sending out the product because there was some unseen problems at the replicator.
These problems have been addressed and corrected but it has meant that the release date has been pushed back.

I must apologise for this but we obviously want the product to be perfect before we send it out to anyone. This means that the new release date for the 'Killer French' DVD's is:

1st August - Europe
15th August - USA and Canada

We will send out the DVD's from these dates.

Again I must apologise but I can reassure you that the DVD's are worth the wait.

Best Regards,

Simon Williams"

If you google images of anti-Semitic cartoons, that image appears a few times. It was being used on the Stormfront website forums too (and what a vile site that is!)

Maybe the mods should email/pm the guy. On the other hand though, he might be using it in an ironic way, rather like the Borat film by Sacha Cohen.

Either Fagan from Oliver Twist or Shylock from The Merchant of Venice immediately come to mind. I must admit that I am uncomfortable with it.

Bogojump, what the hey is that picture?  Is that anti-Semitic, or what?  It sure looks like it, and I have to say, I find it pretty offensive.

You're not the only one Markovich. I believe in free speech and I certainly have no right to go through life without being offended (whatever that means) , but this isn't a free speech zone. Besides, part of free speech means we are free to condemn...

It'll be interesting to see what he says about the main line Winawer, since his own record doesn't look all that good in MegaBase/TWIC (P14 W3, D3, L8).
