Andrew Martin had a similar idea but he prefered Bd7 instead of immideate h5. His idea was to delay castling unless white entered Bc4 yugoslav.

I recall a highlevel game where Khalifman was white and blased through in the centre and won but I am not shure exactly in what lines it was, there was some delayed castle llien where black has played h5.

I have only a few games on my database and none at a high level.

A certain corr. player Gurtovojs, rated 2385, has scored ½/3 with it. Unsurprisingly all players of the white side continued with 8.Qd2 or 8.Bc4 and 9.Qd2. So the question is: how does Black continue? What is his idea?

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Hi all,

I checked out on my database the following unusual idea that I have dubbed the accelerated Soltis variation.

1.e4 c5
2.Nf3 d6
3.d4 Nf6 a useful transposition
4.Nc3 cxd
5.Nxd4 g6
6. Be3 Bg7
7. f3 h5 If this works it avoids the g4 lines mentioned in another thread.
I have only a few games on my database and none at a high level.

1) Is there a known refutation of this line?

2) what is best play for both sides?

I am hopelessly addicted to the King's Gambit
