1.d4 Nf6 2.Bf4 g6 3.e3 Bg7 4.Nf3 d6 5.Be2 0-0 6.0-0 Nc6 this transposes to a position recommended by James Schuyler in his book "The Dark Knight System". His ideas are 7.h3 e5!, 7.c4 e5!, and 7.c3 Nh5. I can't find any mention of these ideas here on chesspublishing or in the literature on the London. How should White meet this? The computers like 7.Nc3!? for White which looks wrong at first but may be better than it looks. It has the idea of expanding in the center with e4 and playing Nb5 or Nd5 in some lines.

It doesn't seem that 7.Nc3!? is anything for White after 7...Nh5! It seems 6...Nc6! makes the London pretty ineffective against the King's Indian.

There is some mention of 7 h3 e5 and 7 Nc3! in the notes to Prie-Moussard, and there is also the Domenech-Manouk game with the same idea of 7 c4 e5! but with the black knight on d7.

Boredom? Meh?  IMO looks like the same theme in both Var. Black in the endgame looses control of his whites squares. I like 10. Nc3 better...  The Knight heading to d5 almost forces c6. Which it looks like was White's idea behind 21. Bxf6.  After 22... Bd8?! IMO Black fights an up hill battle after this move. (If Black I'd look for improvement here)  Black lost  control his white squares, basically get's stuck with a quasi bad Bishop vs Good knight end game.    Somewhat the same thing in the Var 10. c3 but to a lesser degree (10. c3 led to a tactical advantage.. 10. Nc3 IMO was more solid positionally ( a clearer direction which way to go )

Did you check TWIC?

Here a sample game. And its the KID-guru Gallagher who hang in the ropes in the end. Looks like he lost of tiredness though, or maybe even boredom...
