This shows how difficult it is to compare really good books with each other. I think Negi's bok is aiming for higher ratad players than Bologan's is.

I have bought both books and studieded Negi's but only browsed Bologan's so far.

I think it is very difficult to choose one of them because what Bologan's do for 2000/2200 and below Negi's is doing for 2000/2200 and above and they do it equally good according to me.

In Sprite of this I am not advocating several books of the year. I think it is fair that one book will win according to the communities prefernces.

What kind of proof is that?

My vote also goes to Bologan's book although I haven't red Negi.

It would be an absolute travesty if Negi didn't win.

Indeed I fear there is not much of a competition this year since this book is so outstanding.

I cannot think of any other book to nominate which comes even near to this one  Smiley

There are two deadlines:

The deadline for nominations is January 31st. This allows for books published in December to be read, reviewed, and nominated.

The voting deadline will be February 28th.

I second the nomination for:

Grandmaster Repertoire - 1.e4 vs The French, Caro-Kann and Philidor by Parimarjan Negi

It would be an absolute travesty if Negi didn't win.

I love reading this thread each year and plan to suggest one until i realise that all my purchases are usually of books that had been released in previous years  Grin

When's the cutoff date for nominations?
