Note the title differences:

Lakdawala: The Alekhine Defence - Move by Move
Giddins: Alekhine - Move by Move

Giddins has also written Nimzowitch - Move by Move and Bronstein - Move by Move. Both are about the players and not about openings.

I haven't seen this advertised anywhere, but I suspect it will be a collection of Alekhine's games, not an opening book.

Surprise!

After the disapointing Lakdawala's move by move on the Alekhine, I was surprised to see that Everyman is planning another one, same title, this one written by Steve Giddins.

Well, first impression is that this sounds good since I know his move by move books on the French Winawer and on the English which are quite good.

surprised that everyman plans a book with the same title (?!) and also wondering what Giddins lines will proposed and what kind of book; will he pass through every line,
would he propose a repertoire or as in the French Winawer he will focus on a variation.
