I will buy it eventually, but maybe not right away.

In Holland it's already out for a few days. And yes, I am impatient! Wink

I am so impatient that I ordered the book myself!

Thanks for the links - TP site is still not updated.
I'd like the intro to the book and I will buy it.

Thanks for the tip, CarriedbyGg!

Let my try to paste the links. Seems to work if you remove some caps:

https://www.schachversand.de/e/detail/buecher/15291.html

https://www.schachversand.de/DBBilder/leseprob/lopanthad.pdf

I was worried the publisher might be in trouble, but it looks like more books are coming now.  Smiley

Now there is!

The site also says the book will be published in a week or so.

Edit: I am sorry, chesspub won't allow me to post the url for the extract. I cannot attach it also.

It is from schachversand.de, you maybe find it there yourself!

I looked at some position before based on 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4,Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6. The game is kind of complex and forced. It requires a lot of study. Especially after 6.Nxc6 bxc6 7.e5 Ng8 8.Bc4 Bg7 9.Qf3 f5 I believe.

I wondered before if on 1.e4 c5 2.Nfe Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nc6 5.c4 Bg7 6.Nc2 would suffice to avoid complications based on ..Ng4 Qxg4 Nxd4 in the future or for a possible 5.c4 Nf6 6.Nc3 Nxd4 7.Qxd4. I have seen in some anti-cilians that black gets in ...f5 putting pressure on the e4.

On 5.c4 Bg7 6.Be3 Nf6 7.Nc3 Ng4 8.Qxg4 Nxd4 9.Qd1 e5 Andrew Greet's book talks about playing 10.Bd3 0-0 11.0-0 d6 12.a4 a6 13.a5. So I wonder what is the state of this variatoin.

There is no excerpt for The Hyper Accelerated Dragon (Thinkers Publishing) right?

That 9...e5 (which I recall getting some renewed attention in the '90s) had crossed my mind in terms of Black trying to play "ferociously."

The only game I've found where the author faced the Maroczy is this:

Samuel Shankland vs Raja Panjwani
9th Edmonton International (2014)

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 g6 3. d4 cd4 4. Nd4 Nc6 5. c4 Bg7 6. Be3 Nf6 7. Nc3 Ng4 8. Qg4 Nd4 9. Qd1 e5 10. Bd3 d6 11. O-O O-O 12. Ne2 Nc6 13. Qd2 Be6 14. b3 f5 15. Bg5 Qe8 16. ef5 gf5 17. Bc2 f4 18. Qd6 Bf5 19. Bf5 Rf5 20. Qd5 Kh8 21. Bf4 Ne7 22. Qb7 ef4 23. Rae1 Rb8 24. Qa7 Ra8 25. Qb7 Rb8 26. Qa7 Re5 27. Nf4 Nf5 28. Nd3 Re1 29. Re1 Qd8 30. Qf7 Nh6 31. Qf3 Qa5 32. Re2 Rd8 33. g3 Qc3 34. Ne1 Qa1 35. Kg2 Rf8 36. Qc6 Qd4 37. Nf3 Qd8 38. Qe4 Nf5 39. c5 Qd1 40. b4 h6 41. b5 Bd4 42. Re1 Qa4 43. c6 Qa2 44. Nd4 Nh4 45. Kh3 Qf2 46. c7 Ng2 47. Re2 Qf7 48. Qe5 Kh7 49. Qe7 1-0.

I only know of this blurb:  "With 15...e6 instead of the old main move 15...Qb6 Robert Ris pleads for a somewhat more active approach. If White does not know what he is doing, there are several ways he can immediately fall into a trap. Even with best play it is not clear whether White gets an advantage."

@kylemeister: Yes, that's the line I'm thinking of. How did the CBM article evaluate this? I don't subscribe to it at the moment.

Black also needs to think through some move order issues to play this line: 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 g6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 g6 5.c4 Bg7 6.Be3 Nf6 7.Nc3 0-0 8.Be2 d6 9.0-0 Bd7 allows 10.Nc2!? while 9...Nxd4 10.Bxd4 Bd7 gives White a couple of other interesting ways to deviate.

White can also play 9.0-0 Bd7 10.Qd2 Nxd4 11.Bxd4 Bc6 12.f3 Nd7 13.Bf2, which takes Black's ...Qh4 idea off the table. There must be some downside to 13.Bf2 since 13.Be3 is more common, but I've never understood what the downside is! Edit: It may have something to do with ...h5 and ...Bh6 being easier to arrange for Black. I'm no expert on these lines from either side, though I have tried them out with Black in blitz.

Maybe you mean after 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 g6 5.c4 Bg7 6.Be3 Nf6 7.Nc3 0-0 8.Be2 d6 9.0-0 Bd7 10.Qd2 Nxd4 11.Bxd4 Bc6 12.f3 Nd7 13.Be3 a5 14.b3 Nc5 15.Rab1.  That was the subject of a CBM article a couple of issues ago.

One possible choice against the Maroczy is ...e6 and ...Be5 in some order in the main line (non-Gurgenidze - not sure if it has a name).

This has been trendy the last few years. It's sharp, but there are some forced draws in the bargain if White is unambitious and just allows ...Qh4, g3 Bxg3 etc.
