A couple of other options -

Play 1 correspondence game and gain access to the ICCF database for free, or there is a German guy who supplies a large CC database for just 15 euros. PM me if you want the email address, I'm not keen on posting it publicly.

ICCF is for sure the place where most of the strongest correspondence-players are playing. However also at less famous organisations sometimes interesting correspondence games are played. I discuss this aspect in my latest article: https://chess-brabo.blogspot.com/2018/02/ultracorr-x.html

Thank You everyone
I decided to follow the TWIC route, so far so good  Smiley

I was after a good games database rather than specifically just  a CC database

Thanks for the information

About an hour after I posted I did receive an email from the site Administrator telling me that if I send them 59 Euro they will allow access to the Cloud.

Regarding being blocked apparently my IP address may be a threat

Time to investigate the other databases mentioned

cheers

I also found the link to OpeningMaster interesting.
However I have had nothing but technical issues with the site

I registered so that I could subscribe and then received the error message

The mail() function has been disabled and the mail can't be sent.

Of course I reported this to the site Administrator 2 days ago

Today I tried to Log On and received another message

Unable to reset password as User Blocked

I have also reported this but as I haven't had a reply from my original query I am not holding my breath on this one

The Database may very well be great but if the web site and more importantly the customer service is so bad it might make sense for me to look elsewhere
Sad

The customer service was great in the past but now I can´t login too:-( The last update for the OTB database is from October (the correspondence db from November, but no announcement on the website) Looks abondoned, I´m afraid.

Regards,
kai

Hi,

another alternative can be found at openingmaster.com. More than 1,6 Million games at the price of 29€ without updates. I (ICCF Elo 2178) use it myself and so far I am satisfied

Regards,
Kai

Thanks for this, I was looking for an alternative and did not find

Don't buy that.
There is a much better alternative: http://www.chessmail.com/UCX-files/UltracorrX.html
I bought it last month and I am very satisfied about the product.

I often hear about something like when someone analyses a line deeply, that they did not consider this or that game in the correspondence database, but I always wonder where is this correspondence databases. For example, I only have Big Database. I never specify correspondence games or thought about it. Is there a specific correspondence database that comes in ChessBase or where is this to be found?

I am probably unfamiliar with correspondence databases because I never play it, but popular lines that I play that seem to mention correspondence games are the 6. Lg5 Najdorf, Caro-Kann Capablanca main line, and so wider. In my entire chess life I do not think that I ever considered correspondence databases, because I do not even know where they are.
