Title: A new ( for me) Line in the Najdorf Post by Templare2 on 07/15/10 at 16:36:35
Sone days ago I played a local tornamnet and aganinst the najdorf of my opponent i played the "Old Main LIne" 6. Bg5. The game went:
6.., e6 7. f4 Be7 8. Qf3 Qc7 9. 0-0-0 b5!? a move unknow ( albeit for me). I played 10. g4 and I won a complcated battled. At home I checked my"Encyclopedia of Chess Openings" ( I have only the 3rd issue) and "Experts Vs. the Sicilian) and Chess Pub, but i found nothing about this move order. Is this a new variation? And what White must play against? Tnx |

It looks as though it should be bad, and indeed the Russian "Modern Chess Opening Encyclopedia" gives 9...b5? 10. Bxb5+ ab 11. Ndxb5 Qb6 12. e5 Bb7 13. Qg3 de 14. fe Nh5 15. Qh4 Bxg5+ 16. Qxg5 g6 17. Nd6+ +- Meladze-Darsis, corr. 1987.

I have played this line quite a few times in online blitz games, all following Kylemeister's line, and all winning for me. Maybe I can find some of them to post here.
