Nimzo eBook
03/30/07 at 21:20:58

I've done another playable eBook, this time the Nimzo, and again in the new style. Now there is only one text which links to all the 'ChessPub Guides' which then link to all the games. Smiley
What do the N & B subscribers think of it?
You can download it from the usual place: http://www.chesspublishing.com/p/10/cbebooks.htm

I can't believe that there are no subscribers on this board! Surely someone has downloaded it and has an opinion?! Undecided

I replied a while ago but on the General - Chess Publishing - News thread re clickable ebooks, thus:

"I only have Fritz 8 and was disappointed to find it didn't work on this, until I remembered the free download Chessbase Light, it works fine on that
this is a very useful feature, I really like it. Look forward to seeing other clickable books in due course? Can we start a 'wish list'
What about the excellent QGD book, and upgrade the playable d4d5 series, and then there's the antisicilians.....
Thanks for making this improvement available "

this comment was about the new Nimzo ebook, which I still find very useful Smiley

Thanks, I did see the post, but I would like some more reaction before pressing ahead with anymore of these eBooks. Smiley

This is an excellent format and I would encourage you to continue to convert to this style of playable ebooks.

Is it just me, but I find in Chessbase in the text file under Contents I get strange symbols for all the pieces in the bold notation, eg £ for Q.

That mean that you don't have the proper font installed, it might be my fault if I used an old one - which 'Figurine...CB' fonts do you have in the fonts folder?

I'm using AriesSP. As far as I know I have all the current CB9 fonts.

I might have used the older FigurineTmsCB on some parts of the text, maybe this is obsolete now?! Undecided

A similar problem seems to afflict the benoni and QID ebooks too. I've looked back through the old CB disks I still have, but cannot find this font. Any idea where I might retrieve a copy?

Tony, don't mean to hijack this thread and I know this isn't the correct forum to post this question, but I posted it in the d4-d5 and got no response from anyone. You seem to be looking for feedback on the CB style ebooks. I think they are terrific and my question is...can we get a QGD (particularly Tartakower version) CB style ebook? In fact, I would love to see them for all the key systems in all the ChessPub sections.

Thanks for any help!

Searching the Nimzo ebook in the variation 4.Qc2 0-0 I only found the 4.f3 system.  Undecided
Are there any update on this ebook? Thanks.

I have to admit I don't really understand this, do you mean 8 or 9 f3 ?
