Dear friends, still waiting for M.Marin's third volume where he hopefully (and probably) will clarify how to get best winning chances against the QGD set-up, I wonder if some of you would like to discuss what you believe white should do. 

I am not a very strong player, but am still very seriously interested in chess, and in the English opening. I play 2.g3, generally according to Marin & Kosten, but I feel a little confused with the black lines similar to the Queen's Gambit.

For one thing, what is the consensus on choosing between Kosten's line and the b3 Reti? I.e., 

Would you generally recommend 1. c4 Nf6 2. g3 e6 3. Nf3 d5 4. b3 (which I currently tend to play), or 1. c4 Nf6 2. g3 e6 3. Nf3 d5 4. Lg2 (+ 0-0, allowing black dxc4, if he likes). Anything else to play?

Any thought on lines with and without black inserting Nf6?

Any thought on a general move order with respect to handling both QGD and Slav lines (within the 2.g3 English)?

An sample game, which I find is difficult to precisely assess, apart from the fact that white hardly can claim any form of advantage: me as white: 1.c4 Nf6 2.g3 e6 3.Nf3 (to stop Qd4 after dxc4) d5 4.b3 c5 5. Bg2 d4!? 6. d3!? Sure, this is not a game involving Kasparov, as you can see. Black probably overextended, but still white can't really make anything drastic, can he? 7...e5.

ps. I possess Marin's 1st, Kosten, DW, and Watson's 1.c4 volume. All great sources, in many respects, but not very so with respect to these lines.
