Closed - Black Doesn't Fianchetto
After weeks of working through Lane's book, and now Palliser's book, and after weeks of trying it out on ICC, I was finally able to trot out my new weapon at the club again this week.
This makes... Started 06/08/06 at 17:57:40 by dsanchez « Pages 1 2 all » |

What to play against the closed sicilian?
I have some questions about the closed sicilian, since I don't really know what to play against it. I have viewed several topics here and tried several moves ( 2. ... Nc6, 2. ... d6, 2. ... e6 etc. ) ...

Transfer from ECO C26 to ECO B24
Also the title of this post could have been like transferring from a Sicilian scheveningen ECO B45 to an ECO B24. The point of contact between these two and ECO C26 is quite interesting.

I will try to explain how to move from a closed Sicilian ECO B24 to an ECO B47 or ECO B80.

Closed Sicil: 1.e4 2.Nc3 3.g3 4.Bg2 5.d3 6.Be3
I faced the closed sicilian in a recent tournament. It was the Be3, Qd2 line: 1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.g3 g6 4.d3 d6 5.Bg2 Bg7 6.Be3
I usually play the Rogozenko ..e5 line, which on this occasion I th... Started 06/11/09 at 14:40:49 by TicklyTim |

Closed Sicilian line recommended by Palliser
To my mind (or at least first glance)
1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 e6 3.g3 d5 4.exd5 exd5 5.Bg2 Nf6 looks totally equal for Black. This is Palliser's second suggestion in his Anti-Sicilians book, if no one's d... Started 04/15/09 at 10:25:54 by ghenghisclown |

Closed, early a6-b5
Hello.
Today I had the black side of a Closed Sicilian, that started: 1 e4 c5 2 Nc3 g6 3 g3 Bg7 4 Bg2 Nc6 5 d3 d6 6 Be3 a6?! 7 Qd2 (a4!) b5!? The move was essentially a slip, I played i... Started 07/20/08 at 01:41:07 by nexirae |

Closed Sicilian (?) Move Order Question
As White, I encountered the following move order last week: 1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.g3 e6 4.Bg2 Nf6 5.d3 d5.
