Blumenfeld
I was pretty sure that there was a thread on the Blumenfeld already, but I can't find it, so perhaps we could start a new one.  I remember buying a small Trends volume on the Blumenfeld many years ago...

1.e4 Nc6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 dxe4 (Nimzovich Defence)
The 3...dxe4 variation of the Nimzovich has gotten a lot of bad press recently and was hoping to have a discussion of it to see if this was truly deserved.  I still think 3...e6 is a decent move...

Bg5 vs the dutch?
Hi all,
I was thinking of giving Bg5 a try vs the dutch. Looking on line I see there are a few books out on it. Can anyone recommend a good one for the white side? Thanks.

Dzindzi-Indian : Crazy Benko/Fajarowicz Hybrid
I just came across this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyJ6VpFqDYI of an internet blitz game where a GM whipped out this insane sequence as Black : 1. d4 Nf6 ; 2. c4 a6 (As I recall the standar...

Sidelines of Leningrad Dutch via 1. d4 d6
I was thinking of adding Leningrad Dutch as a reserve opening, but by avoiding 1. d4 f5 sidelnes like 2. Nc3, 2. Bg5, all sorts of gambits and what have you, by doing 1. d4 d6 then go ...f5/...Nf6/......

Interesting Modern Defense move order/trap
I just played a blitz game and ran into what I can only describe as a strategic trap.  Here's the PGN:

Any thoughts on White's best here after 3...Nc6?  I'd never seen the move before; I guess 5.d5! must be the way to go.  Black played a surprising 10...Bxd4! and was already at least equal.

Schuyler's book about a repertoire with 1...Nc6 looks interesting, but in one of the first lines I examined I'm not totally convinced by his analysis:
