New plans in the ...e5 English with early ...Be7
Last year I believe I devised a couple of seemingly viable TN's against the English involving 1...e5 and an early ...Be7 by Black:
    [1. c4 e5  2. Nc3 d6  3. g3 f5  4. d4 exd4  5. Qxd4 Be7 when 6. Qxg7? is met by 6...Bf6]
    [1. c4 e5  2. g3 (or 2. Nc3 Be7  3. g3 h5) Be7 3. Bg2 h5]

In the former a playable late-opening/early-middlegame setup for...

Halkias-Aloma Vidal (Aix-les-Bains)
I wonder who wrote the comments to this game for the Chessbase site; they strike me as, well, not the most insightful/well-informed comments I've ever seen.  A couple of examples:  after 1.c4 Nf6 2.Nc...

How about the Dragadorf Reversed?
When playing through the first moves of Anand-Topalov (11th game) I wondered how well Knight e4 would be placed on c4 instead. In other words, is a Dragadorf with colours reversed a viable idea?

closed sicilian with colours reverse
I want to ask if the format  Pawns{g6-f5-e5-d6} with Nc6 and Nf6(reverse closed Sicilian) is good against English.
It deserved to study that formation?

I have been interested in d6/e5, e5/d6, f5, Nf6, Be7 systems of late. MNb pointed out to me that in the English, 1.c4 e5 2.Nc3 d6 3.g3 f5 4.Bg2 Nf6 5.d3 Be7 6.e4 then the Be7 becomes passive. Anyone h...
