New plans in the ...e5 English with early ...Be7
Last year I believe I devised a couple of seemingly viable TN's against the English involving 1...e5 and an early ...Be7 by Black:
[1. c4 e5 2. g3 (or 2. Nc3 Be7 3. g3 h5) Be7 3. Bg2 h5] In the former a playable late-opening/early-middlegame setup for... Started 02/11/11 at 02:20:02 by George Jempty « Pages 1 2 all » |

Keres line against English Opening
1. c4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. g3 c6
I hear that this line is suppose to give white a small edge. Does anyone know the analysis and lines behind this claim? Started 02/14/11 at 02:01:31 by kevinfat |

What is your fourth move preference and why?
After playing 4.g3 for a long time, I am now playing 4.e3 as it leads to more similar of a structure to the Sicilian Kan, which I play as black.<br ... Started 04/11/06 at 20:12:19 by Stu(Guest) (Guest) |

Reverse Dragon
In the common sequence, 1. c4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. g3 d5 4. cxd5 Nxd5 5. Bg2 Nb6 6. Nf3 Nc6 7. 0-0, almost everyone recently continued with 7. .. Be7.
Why is the idea of 7. .. Be6 not more popular? T... Started 11/22/18 at 10:35:03 by RdC « Pages 1 2 all » |
