Underrated line in the Petroff?
What's wrong with this reply against the Petroff?:
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3. Nxe5 d6 4. Nf3 Nxe4 5.d4 d5 6. Bd3 Bd6 7. 0-0 0-0 8. c4 Be6!? The normal move is 8. - c6, but what is wrong with 8. - Be6..... Started 12/12/04 at 05:23:12 by JN |

Svidler-Adams W.Ch Rnd 1 Petroff: Does it draw?
Hi all,
MNb, and many others look at the Petroff's almost as Black to play and draw against 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3. Mickey Adams in round 1 seems to have staked his own claim to that theory, and com... Started 09/28/05 at 22:51:21 by Smyslov_Fan |

Petroff with 3. Nc3
(So 1. e4, e5 2. Nf3, Nf6 3. Nc3)
Seems strange to me : White seems to be fine (and even a bit better than that) but it is obviously not the main line > What am I missing here ? Started 12/07/05 at 05:49:54 by Strptzr |

Petroff Powerbook and Petroff Powerbase 2020
Can any one tell me whether the Petroff Powerbase contains any correspondence games? I suspect that the Powerbook is full of engine games and therefore of limited interest to the average player?

Petroff Boden - Blunder or Main Line
After 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Bc4 Bc5 my old version of Fritz6 gives in its book 4.d3 as the main line.
