I keep getting slaughtered in early stages QGA
As white my main opening is d4 followed by c4. Normally this works well for me, as most people play the tarrasch, slav, semi-slav, etc.. but it seems like I'm getting roasted against the QGA early on ...

New QGA Chessbase DVD
Does anyone have the scoop on this new offering? I was wandering if the lines would mesh well with Rizzatano's QGA work?

looking for an alternative to Avrukh's QGA
I have been studying 7.Bb3 ala "GM Repertoire - 1.d4 by Avrukh (2008)".
BUT: I find the suggested lines to be very theoretical (although also interesting), often involving material sacrific... Started 02/15/10 at 10:20:56 by HoemberChess « Pages 1 2 all » |

QGA with 4. Nc3
When going through my white repertoire I came across this possibility:
1. d4 d5 2. c4 dxc4 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. Nc3 The line can easily transpose to something else (after 4...c6, 4...Nc6 or 4...e6)... Started 07/21/09 at 08:34:01 by Meat |

I've an idea in QGA for Black, is this good?
Hi everyone!
I've focused on QGA recently, and I maybe found some interesting idea. The style of playing it is: 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.e3 e6 5.Bxc4 c5 6.0-0 a6 7.Bb3 b5 8.a4 Bb7(this is considered... Started 07/12/09 at 11:31:57 by Chwileulotne85 |

some QGA analysis
I was comparing Avrukh's QGA treatment with Rizzitano's, and I noticed that Avrukh completely omits one of Rizzitano's major ideas after 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.e3 e6 5.Bxc4 c5 6.0-0 a6 7.Bb3 b5...

Shulman's line in the QGA
Hello,
I wonder why. Cadogan's book by Neishtadt on the QGA, 1997 does give a winning line for white : 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.e3 e6 5.Bxc4 c5 6.0-0 a6 7.e4 (ECO D27) when the accepta... Started 03/05/09 at 20:57:17 by star1 |

How to handle QGA 3.e4 as Black
