Cambridge Springs - Panczyk and Ilczuk
In their book, Panczyk and Ilczuk favour the line 7.Nd2 bxc4 because they consider 7...Bb4 8.Qc2 O-O 9.Be2 e5 10.dxe5 Ne4 11.Ncxe4 good for White (p.161).
However, in the ChessPub ebook on the QG... Started 02/21/08 at 22:01:28 by Justinhorton |

QGD vs Ragozin
QC recently released two books that feature 1. d4 d5, Playing the Ragozin (via the "accelerated" move order) and Playing 1.d4 d5. The latter has received a great deal of attention, but the Ragozin boo...

Ragozin Repertoire trick to avoid QG Exchange
So, what is a Ragozin player to do if he wants to avoid the QG exchange? I have been playing the NID move order (Nf6, e6, Bb4). I play an early d5 in response to Nf3, Qc2 or e3 aiming to minimize repe...

QGD: 3...Nf6 vs 3...Be7
I heard from many sources, like Seirawan commenting in Sinquefield Cup and NM Dereque Kelley in one of his youtube videos, suggesting that after 1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3, 3...Be7 is more accurate than [b]3...Nf

Omit 5...h6 in the Tartakower?
Is there any drawback to playing 1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bg5 Be7 5.e3 0-0 6.Nf3 b6? I don't think I've ever come across this line before without ...h6, and I was wondering if there was a problem w...

Does 7...Nbd7 in the QGD have a name?

Andreikin-Kramnik, World Cup R3
Anyone else check out this game?
[pgn] [Event "FIDE World Chess Cup"] [Site "chess24.com"] [Date "2015.09.17"] [Round "19"] [White "Andreikin, Dmitry"] [Black "Kramnik...|/pgn] I am not an expert in the QGD by any means, but 9...c5!? seems kind of unusual, but interesting. At the very least I thought Kramnik's position was quite appealing after 16...Qc6. According to my understanding from the White side, 10.dxc5 should be tried. I wonder what Kramnik's idea was here? I analyzed quite a few ...d4 ideas after 10...Nc6, but nothing seemed to totally work. Black does have a lot of ways to head into 2B vs. 2N positions down a pawn, but I'm not sure about any of them. Will post more when I get home from work and have access to a database and computer. ![]() Started 09/17/15 at 18:18:29 by TonyRo |
