Conflict in the Saemisch... ?
I wrote this letter to IM David Vigorito about his updates to his KID books. I think there is a gap in the coverage. Anyone knows something new about this ? Thanks for your help.

Sämish system. What's up?
What is the state of Sämish theory these days? I haven't kept up much with opening theory for the last 18 years but back then the classical bayonet attack was still all the rage against the KID. That'...

State of the trendy Variation with a6-Nbd7
Hey, are there any ways to improve on the recen play of White players in the recently popular line with a6-Nbd7 followed by an eventual b5 pawn sac?

How is the Byrne variation doing these days?
I noted this to be the most troubling variation for white in the games I played as black, even when I was the weaker player (way back in the day) and ended my fear of the saemisch. How is its reputati...

The modern Saemisch (Eric Montany) 6 Bg5 system
In the Modern Benoni main line (Chapter 4), Black can play an early Nh7, for example, 9...a6 10 a4 h6 11 Be3 Nh7 . Any views on how White should play eg 12 Nge2 Nd7 13 Nc1 or Nd1?

6..Na6 vs. the Samisch
After 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6 5.f3 0-0 6.Be3 I'm wondering why 6..Na6 isn't played more often. What is White's best line against it? 7.Qd2 c5 and now is the problem 8.d5, 8.Nge2 or both?<...

I'm new to the King's Indian Saemisch, and one line I wouldn't look forward to as White is:

Refutation to the Bronstein Queen Sac?
The Bronstein Queen Sac is an interesting line but I couldnt find a single game on the 2014 ICCF database, which leads me to think the line is busted, at least for correspondence chess.

A curious occurrence in the Saemisch
I wonder what's up with this. I noticed that a couple of days ago (in the first round of an open in Germany), Richard Rapport as Black played like this: 1. d4 d6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4. e4 Nf6 5. f3 ...

Good books on the Saemisch?
Are there any good recent books on the Saemisch?
Primarily I am looking for something from White's point of view but really good books from Black's perspective are interesting too. Started 11/07/10 at 07:57:27 by tafl |

Samisch 6 be3 e5
Just wondering if this has been refuted or is there a reason why this line which was Kasparov's regular choice is seemingly no longer played?
Anyone know of any recent games in this line? Started 08/09/10 at 11:38:33 by ANDREW BRETT |

Saemisch - c5 gambit on move 5, not 6
Hi! Anyone have anything to say about:
1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4. e4 O-O (as opposed to the infinitely more popular 4...d6) 5. f3 and now 5...c5? After a brief skim with a database, I ... Started 06/06/10 at 22:19:29 by Seth_Xoma |

any thoughts on the move order
1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6 5.f3 c5 instead of the usual 5. ...O-O. the advantages (and disadvantages to this) is that white doesn't get the queenless,... Started 03/15/09 at 18:35:48 by refutor |
