Sämish system. What's up?
What is the state of Sämish theory these days? I haven't kept up much with opening theory for the last 18 years but back then the classical bayonet attack was still all the rage against the KID. That'...

6..Na6 vs. the Samisch
After 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6 5.f3 0-0 6.Be3 I'm wondering why 6..Na6 isn't played more often.  What is White's best line against it?  7.Qd2 c5 and now is the problem 8.d5, 8.Nge2 or both?<...

A curious occurrence in the Saemisch
I wonder what's up with this.  I noticed that a couple of days ago (in the first round of an open in Germany), Richard Rapport as Black played like this:  1. d4 d6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4. e4 Nf6 5. f3 ...

The modern Saemisch (Eric Montany) 6 Bg5 system
In the Modern Benoni main line (Chapter 4), Black can play an early Nh7, for example, 9...a6 10 a4 h6 11 Be3 Nh7 . Any views on how White should play eg 12 Nge2 Nd7 13 Nc1 or Nd1?

and now 9 a4.
What on earth was this move?  After some thought, I rejec...

Svidler-Grischuk
since no topic exists of this game, I thought I'd create one
so, what do you think of this astonishing piece sacrifice? is it really sound or just a one trick pony (but what a trick!)

Sämisch - black delays castling
Last friday, I got this game:
1. d4-Nf6 2.c4-g6 3.Nc3-Bg7 4.e4-d6 5.f3-Nbd7!? 6.Nh3-c5 7.d5-Ne5 8.Nf2-a6 9.Be3-Qc7 10.Be2-00 11.00-Re8
I was quite surprised by black's fifth move and, mainly...

But, what...

Saemisch - c5 gambit on move 5, not 6
Hi! Anyone have anything to say about:
1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4. e4 O-O (as opposed to the infinitely more popular 4...d6) 5. f3 and now 5...c5?
After a brief skim with a database, I ...
