Meran System : 8..Ld6!?
I'm looking at 8..Ld6!? in the Meran System. Which are the key games to look at? Who plays this with Black?

Semi Slav idea. the difference 7.Bd3 and 7.Be2

With the white pieces, I have been playing exchange slav with 5.Bf4. I also enjoy playing QGD exchange with white and play both modern and Carlsbad.

About the new Rybka 3 book the author of it wrote, that the above mentioned line after 6.Bd2 Qxd4 7.Bxb4 Qxe4+ is dangerous for black.

I was looking through my old Pedersen Meran book and the author quite likes this for Black.

After 1 d4 d5 2 c4 c6 3 Nf3 Nf6 4 Nc3 e6, Larry Kaufman in his book "The Chess Advantage in Black and White" calls 5 Bg5 the Botvinnik System but isn't it only the Botvinnik if Black plays 5...dxc4?

The variation 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nc3 Sf6 4.e3 e6 5.Nf3 Nbd7 6.Qc2 Bd2 7.Bd2 is well known and usually covered in books.
