The Tango after 'Tango!' (2005)
I’m starting this thread in the hopes there might be others like me who are interested in exploring any newer developments in -- and White’s most dangerous lines against -- the Black Knights’ Tango. T...

Any advice on 1.d4 Nc6 2.c4 e5!?
I'd like to know peoples views on this line. Obviously you have to be prepared to enter a Nimzowitsch after 2.e4, but this seems to me to be something of a 'souped-up' tango.
I found this in an o... Started 10/04/08 at 12:16:17 by naughtyknight |

1.d4 Nc6 2.d5 Ne5 3.e4
Is this variation dangerous for Black? Although White gains space in the centre, it seems as though Black would be able to counterattack the centre with a move such as 3...e6. But then 4.f4 Ng6 5.de6 ...

Tango players: what if white doesn't play 2. c4?
I am a patzer (~1200 rating at ICC), and have started to look at openings. To d4, I have decided to play the Two Knights Tango (1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 Nc6), using Palliser's excellent book. My problem is, wh...

Tango positions
Hi there,
I am a 2100+ Fide rated thinking of taking up the Tango. I am mainly a positional player, but I do enjoy dynamic positions, but shun wild risky play. What kind of positions does the Ta... Started 09/18/06 at 21:19:12 by Antillian |

Tango 4...Na5
As I was prepping my white repertoire for possible black responses, I spotted a move in the Tango. 1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 Nc6 3 Nf3 e6 4 a3 Na5. Black takes aim at the c4 square in the style of Nimzovich, an...

The Knight's Tango
My coach tells me I need to pick up a new defense as Black against 1.d4 . I'm not comfortable with 1.d4 d5, and he says my current opening (The Grunfeld) is much too tactical and dynamic for a positi...

Black Knight's Tango (A50)
Hello,
It sure seem the right place to discuss the black knight's tango opening. Maybe the reputation is bad on account of the following : Karpov,A (2692) - Llobel Cortell,E (2388) [A50]... Started 03/07/09 at 05:09:34 by star1 |

Tango... or not? 2.Nf3 transposition advice.
Hi all,
A quick 'Tango' question for you all... how does Black cope with 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3. I noticed the Pallister book on the subject doesn't mention this. What should the Tango player play n... Started 02/02/08 at 17:33:23 by naughtyknight « Pages 1 2 3 all » |

Two Knights' Tango; 3 Nf3 e6 4 a3
The Tango surely remains a good choice for the club player as Black against 1 d4, but is sadly yet to be properly covered on the website. Perhaps that's because White often continues 1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 Nc6...
