IMO, black's best is:

1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6 6.Bg5 Bg7 7.e5 dxe5 8.Ndb5 Nbd7 9.Nd5 O-O

and White's down a pawn. There's a little 'scary' activity going on with the white horses, but.. it dissipates rapidly. Sad

If black goes for the queen exchange (8..Qxd1+), the game would probably continue:

1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6 6.Bg5 Bg7 7.e5 dxe5 8.Ndb5 Qxd1+ 9.Rxd1 Na6 10.Nxa7 Rxa7 11.Bb5+ Nd7 12.Nd5

White's getting the piece and pawn back, and black is in a difficult position. Perhaps black can hold this, but in blitz it's pretty tough.  IMO White's better. Wink

But in this line you mentioned:

1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6 6.Bg5 Bg7 7.e5 dxe5 8.Ndb5 Qxd1+? 9.Rxd1 Na6 10.Nxa7

what's wrong with 8...Qxd1+?

In that line above both sides I think have even chances.

8...Nbd7 on the other hand is a very bad move leading to that final cheapo mentioned.

So, what's the first cheapo?

Sorry if I simply did not see something Embarrassed

Here's a pathetic cheapo line white can play against the Dragon. It's had a pretty good success rate for me in blitz, but generally only works once per opponent Smiley

1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6 6.Bg5 Bg7 7.e5 dxe5 8.Ndb5 Qxd1+? 9.Rxd1 Na6 10.Nxa7

8..Nbd7 refutes the line, but white does have one final cheapo [8...Nbd7 9.Nd5 Nxd5? 10.Nd6+].

The theory behind the line is that after 8.Ndb5, black will be afraid, and trade queens to simplify the position. Roll Eyes
