Hi again!
I haven't found much new in this line, and it may be that White is a tiny bit better. However, if Black is looking for inspiration then have a look at these two games, both of which are fully annotated in ChessPub (ECO code E13).

Hi Bewildered,

Yes, I know this line can become a bit tedious for Black, especially if Black plays ...Nd7 and White offers the exchange of bishops  with Bd3-e4. Perhaps I'll take a closer look at this line for the March update.

All the best,

John Emms Smiley

I have spent a lot of time looking at the variation 4 Nf3 b6 5 Bg5 h6 6 Bh4 g5 7 Bg3 Ne4 8 Qc2 Bb7 9 e3 etc. and I have all the well known books.
I find it hard to get comfortable as Black in lines where Black plays ...Nxg3 and White takes with the h-pawn.  White's plans are straightforward, Black can easily get very passive. Embarrassed
Any help or guidance please?
