1 d4 d5, 2 Nf3 Nf6, 3 Bf4 Bf5.

4.c4 would seem to the most logical reply to a symmetrical defense, timing maybe an issue, you may want to play 4.e3 first than c4. This is a safer line than the immediate 4.c4

I just got Gary Lanes new book on the London System and other d-pawn specials. I liked it, but what is what to do against this set up by black. 1 d4 d5, 2 nf3 nf6, 3 bf4 bf5. Seems like a lot of people I play on the ICC, like to develope there bishop outside there pawn chain. Thank you for any advice.
