while those who know a little about it all might well go 1 e4 e5 2 Bc4 Nf6 3 d4 ed 4 Nf3 Nxe4! 5 Qxd4 Nf6 6 Bg5 Nc6! 7 Qh4 [7 Bxf6 Nxd4] - d5 and spoil white's fun

This is why white shouldn't play 6. Bg5? but 6.Nc3! which usually transposes to the old main lines of Bg5 but avoids 6. ... Nc6! 7.Qh4 d5

Maybe the Urusoff Gambit is a dead duck these days ... all the Cool Kids  8) are gonna play their 2 Kts, following Steve's line, while those who know a little about it all might well go 1 e4 e5 2 Bc4 Nf6 3 d4 ed 4 Nf3 Nxe4! 5 Qxd4 Nf6 6 Bg5 Nc6! 7 Qh4 [7 Bxf6 Nxd4] - d5 and spoil white's fun ... eg 8 Bxf6 gxf6 9 Bb3 Qe7+ and black will be looking good after - Be6 & - 0-0-0

It looks alright to me. However, after 1.e4 e5 2. Bc4 Nf6 3. d4 ed 4. Nf3 Nc6(!) transposes to the Two Knights (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. d4 ed)

Re: the Urusov Gambit (1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Nf6 3.d4 exd4 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.Qxd4)...  I've played it for White a couple of times and won both games, but they were both against weaker opponents.

Any comments on this gambit?
