It seems to me, that in the game given, Black will have interesting play with both:

a) 12.dxe6 f5!?
b) 12.dxe6 fxe6 13.Qxa1 Bxb4 14.Bxb4 Qg5
c)  12.dxe6 fxe6 13. Qxa1 Bc5

More interesting to me is the fact that most black players (according to chesslab.com) seem to prefer playing 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc 3.Nc3 a6 4.e4 b5 5.a4 b4 6.Na2 e6... for the time beeing protecting the b-pawn and planning to counter-attack in the center with a later c5. This makes me wonder if there are any special reasons for this.

1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.Nc3 a6 4.e4 b5 5.a4 b4 6.Na2 Bb7 7.f3 Nc6 8.d5 Na5

This is a line recommended by GM Ward in his book.  My question pertains to the sequence 9.Nxb4!? e6, when GM Ward writes "9 Nxb4 e6 sees the b4-knight struggling, the b3-square ripe for invasion and White's centre under fire."  Maybe so, but take a look at the following continuation:

9.Nxb4 e6 10.Bd2 Nb3 11.Bxc4 Nxa1 12.dxe6 fxe6 13.Qxa1 a5 14.Nd3 Qc8 15.Qa2 and white held the advantage.

Was there something I missed here with black?
