Just a short reaction
It seems to me that black can play 7....Bb4 pinning the knight.  If White plays for example can go for  8....Qa5. Does this give you new insigths ??

I know that almost everyone dismisses this line as bad, but in practice it arises numerous times (including from high rated players, just played a 2036 who played Nxc6).

After 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 e5 6.Nxc6 bxc6 7.Bc4, what would the normal continuations be?  d5 has been rendered nearly impossible, and black's position seems quite passive.

I do believe Alekhine (!) played 7. ... Rb8 here, so that's what I generally try, although I am stumped in this variation (and that move isn't too great...).

Thoughts?   ???
