I think 10...f6 is played to defend the knight (e5 is a good square, stopping Bd3 for a while) and to prepare ...Nf7 to drive the queen away. Other moves allow White to develop easily with Be3 and Bd3 - I will have a look at this in the next update.

1.c4 Nf6 2.Nc3 e6 3.e4 c5 4.e5 Ng8 5.Nf3 Nc6 6.d4 cxd4 7.Nxd4 Nxe5 8.Ndb5 a6 9.Nd6+ Bxd6 10.Qxd6 ...

Why is the mainline here that hideous move f6?
Why does black not play a move along the lines of Nc6 or Ng6?  What is so bad about these moves which would seem to consolidate the position while a pawn up?

By the way, the databases show that black does not stand too badly with either move!

Something I'm missing?
