Is this the line recommended in ¨A Complete Defense to King Pawn Openings"?

Surely, 4.Bxa6? is met with Qa5+! 3.-Na6 isn't as bad as it looks, but it is a bit passive as the b8 knight isn't pressuring the centre as much as it would from c6.

The late Tony Miles had an article on chesscafe a few years back on the merits of an early Na6, probably 1.-c6 and 2.-Na6, but I seem to remember that he preferred a set-up with d6 and e5, later on.

I always thought that the point of 3...Na6!? was to meet 4.Bxa6[?] not with 4...bxa6?!, when, in my view, the long term weaknesses on the queenside will outweigh any pressure Black might be able to generate on the b-file, but with 4...Qa5†! followed by 5...Qxa6.  That way, Black achieves his light squared domination without compromising his pawn structure.

I think you meant 4.Bxa6.  I find it's quite all right and it doesn't seem to have an immediate drawback.  But white can just have a good play with normal moves like 4.c3. 3...Na6 would sure be a good move to surprise your opponent though.  Right?

What do you think about this? seems ok, since white shouldn't play 3. Bxh6, because black would end up having a open b-file and thieir white-squared bishop might end up being stronger later on.

Any thoughts?
