	It might be reasonable for white but if you're planning to play this way then I'd have thought that the 6 Be2 e5 7 Nb3 Be7 8 f4 lines or 8 g4 ^ 8 ..h6 9 f4 seem more logical. (the latter intending g5 supported by the f pawn leading to some pretty insane looking games). That way you don't lose a tempo recapturing on f4 with the bishop. These lines are both known if not especially critical or main line.

	I always thought that the English Attack begun with 6.Be3 e6 7.f3 with g4 to follow. The variation 6.Be3 e5 7.Nb3 should be called Byrne Attack, as he played this already in the early 70's.

	What name can be given to that variation then?...it also looks pretty promising for white and can sidestep tons of english attack mainline theory..you thoughts

	That may be many things, but an English Attack, it ain't. in my view, the English Attack is defined by the moves f2-f3 and g2-g4. This line with f4, Qe2, 0-0-0, h3 and g4 looks a bit ropey to me.

	If sometimes we fly too close to the sun, at least this shows we are spreading our wings.

	I;d like to know your thoughts on the english attack like with 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cd4 4.Nd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 d6 6.Be3 e5 7.Nb3 Be6(Be7) 8.f4!!..with Qe2 0-0-0 and h3,g4...please let me know what you think..
