Ok f4 looks intresstimng and is off the beaten track what we like.

lets have a deeper look at it.

4. f4 Bxc3 has at least according to the online chessbase (www.chesslive.de) a good score.

4. f4 exf4 5.e5 leads to a position which is normally reached under the move order 1.e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3.Bc4 Nf6 4. Nc3 Bb4 5.e5 Smiley

to this line i ve found an internet game between Reprintsev and Macshane where Luke played 5. ...d5 and won. Cry

Does anybody have some experience with this line?

Sharpest is 4.f4 playing the Jänisch-Schliemann Attack with colours reversed and the move Bc4 extra.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Does anyone have a good idea for with in the

1 e4 e5 2 Nc3 Nf6 3 Bc4 Bb4 line   ???

In Lanes book he recomend Qf3 without deep analysis. To me this move seems not very promissing.   Undecided
