Quote:Choice enough.
But nothing really satisfying.
3...e6 I dont like because sooner or later it leads to French positions and I never played the French and dont want to start now just because somebody dont likes Open Sicilians.
3...d6 has a major drawback in the variations upon 7.Bxc6 in my eyes: 4.0-0 Bd7, 5.Re1 Nf6, 6.c3 a6, 7.Bxc6 Bxc6, 8.d4 cxd4, 9. cxd4 Bxe4 and all answers to 10. Nc3 or 10.Bg5 are far away from something I would like to play; best in my eyes is 10...d5 but I definitely dont like the position; its already an endgame, no complications, just one light figure left and this after only 14 moves!
3...Qb6 I dont like after 4.Bxc6 Qxc6, 5.Nc3 where you have the choice between losing the game with 5...d6 or playing e6 and upon d4 etc. you have a dull KAN setup.
3...Na5 ends most times also with this KAN/PAULSEN-position or any other black underdevelopment.
The only third move that is left for me, is 3...g6.
