I also received the book yesterday. It seems to deliver  what one needs, specially in these openings, verbal explanations. With Databases around, one can improve on the moves given (to suit individual tastes) but what moves cannot provide is the explanatory remarks, missing in some books of the late nineties.

For example, a very thin book by Nunn (classical King's Indian) was excellent, but the later co-autored with Burgess I find a jungle of moves! (And it actually came in two dense 320 page tomes!)

The moves are available to everyone since databases and chessbase (and internet!). Good explanatory remarks make the difference...

I received the book in the post a few days ago.  It is excellent.  I particularly like the explanations of the typical endings and middlegame positions.

If the book has the same quality as the annotated games on his website, it must be outstanding.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

I have just received my copy (of the English version) but have not had a chance to look at it really, so I can't comment on its quality in chess terms.

It seems to be nicely presented, though, with a good index, clear layout, and a suggested repertoire with both colours.

Interestingly, Kinsmann also does this in his much earlier Batsford book on the subject, but other than that I haven't seen anybody do this until John Cox's Alekhine book and now this from Kindermann. No doubt there are other examples which I haven't come across.

One very unimportant glitsch: although it is right on the cover, on the spine of the book the German spelling "Spanisch" has survived.  It does no harm, I suppose, to be reminded that the book was originally in German.

I have the german edition of the book. Similar to his book on the Leningrad Dutch it has an introduction with common plans and then annotated games ordered by variation. I like Kindermann's writing. He gives clear explanations and has many own ideas. I don't think you will be disappointed.

You can see several of the annotated games at http://chessgate.de/training/training_kindermann/training_kindermann.html (in german). Even if you don't know german I think you can evaluate the quality of the analysis.

Has anyone seen this book?  I was wondering if it was any good.  I would assume it is just by the fact of who the author is.

I play this opening but have never been able to find a decent book on it.
