Kaufman recommends 3.b3 after 2..e6 but also looks at 3.d3 as an alternative.

Didn't Kaufman spend a chapter on 3.Bb5 in his Chess Advantage with White/Black repertoire? What does he recommend after 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6 ?

If the Bb5 chapter is well done(?) it seems like a bargain to get so much more extra information compared to a specialised book on just 3.Bb5, as the price difference will probably not be very big (and may even favour the Kaufmann tome!)

5...d5 is given an !? in the analysis on the link. He follows Feigin-Morawietz 1999 and gives white a slight advantage at move 15.

In that case I hope Kindermann will pay attention to 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6 3.b3 a6 4.Bb2 Nc6 and 5...d5, which looks as a straightforward equalizer to me.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Maybe Kindermann will write a book on 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6 3.b3.

On his opening analysis page http://chessgate.de/training/training_kindermann/training_kindermann.html there is some material. The exchange Spanish became a book.  Maybe the b3-sicilian could be part of the white repertoire series on Olms.

I doubt that very much tracke Grin

Those lines as chess writers love to say would be "Outside the scope of the book".

Just to fix the topic we are talking about:
If my informations are correct then there are THREE books about the Bb5 Sicilian coming out this year ?!

The Sicilian Bb5 Revealed by Neil McDonald, Batsford, ~August 05

The Bb5 Sicilian by Richard Palliser, Everyman, ~September 05

(?) by John Shaw, Quality Chess, ~?? 05

I hope that at least one will deal also with 2...e6 3.b3 and 2...a6/g6/b6/Nf6/Qc7/... offering a complete white repertoire!

tracke  ???

I agree - wait for John Shaw's new book on Bb5, I expect good things from him.

I am always suspicious of Books by non specialist  Grin

Neil Mcdonald does not play the Bb5+ Sicilian as far as I know, nor against it as he is a French defence player. I would have much prefered something authored by a Bb5+ specialist, such as for instance IM John Shaw.

According to Amazon it has not been published yet, but pre-ordering is possible.
