hmm, so if you play ...e6, are you going to play for ...e5 later, isn't c5 the way to play?

3...e6 is a good line for black.  This is one reason Prie prefers the Trompovsky move order, since he thinks the Torre is better for black when he refrains from c5, and instead plays for ...e5.  See his notes on the most recent Torre section.

I am planning to play 2...b6 to avoid all kinds Colle systems, but 3.Bg5 looks rather strong, so I'm wondering whether there's any theory on this variation.  What is black's best option? 3...Bb7, 3...e6 or 3...Ne4?
At the moment I like 3...Bb7. One might be afraid of 4.Bxf6, but I think this looks ok for  black after 4...exf6. The doubled f-pawn can prove quite useful to cover e4 or  to play f4. To 4.Nbd2 (the true Colle-player's move) black can play 4...e6 5.e4 Be7 and he tow sound setups (at least according to me): d6-c5 and d6-e5, though I like the first one (hedgehog!) better.

What does/do current theory/games say about this variation and other 3rd moves? Is the hedgehog setup sound or does black have to consider something else?
