There is another thread on the Classical Dragon. In stead of Karpov's 9.Bg5 White might also try the subtile 9.Kh1. Eric Moscow reacted with something like immediate equality because of d5, but I do not understand that.
  
The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

If sometimes we fly too close to the sun, at least this shows we are spreading our wings.

I play the Reversed Dragon lines with Black and find them very playable; if I were to meet the Dragon in my occasional 1.e4 outings, I would certainly contemplate adopting a similar set-up, rather than go in for the heavy theoretical stuff.

The Karpov line with Bg5 can give some quite annoying pressure against e7 and the extra tempo does count for something in that it is harder for Black to get his play going on the queenside than it is for White in the English.

You can also try looking for the reversed dragon on the flank openings site. 

Once upon a time I played the reversed "classical dragon" as Black (after 1. c4 e5), and it's not easy at all. The extra tempo for White probably doesn't make a difference?!  Undecided

I was wondering if you guys could help a brother out i want to start playing the white side of the classical dragon. No more Yugoslav i want to surprise some people. Does any one know of a good site to check out or maybe a book. Even your own games and ideas are welcome.
