I like Chris too Grin

Still I think he needs to improve with the tardiness of his updates.

If his updates mustbe late, then when they do arrive they should be blockbusters in some way. Sadly that is rarely the case.

Of late his updates have not only been tardy but quite mediocre in content. Some important discoveries and lines have been discussed on the forum in the past 2 months, and it is quite frustrating that Chris has commented on very few of them, which leads me to conclude that he very rarely visits the forum.

The other thing that has bothered me a bit is that in virtually every update he promises that the next one will be more timely and implies that the content will make up for the lateness, however that is rarely ever the case.

I echo Eddie's query as to who would be a worthy replacement to Chris. This is difficult to say as Chris' undying faith in the Dragon and his engaging and witty writing style is very inspirational for Dragoneers as well as would be Dragoneers.

To my mind there is still no better expert to run the Dragon site, but if the updates must be very late then they should at least be very meaty as well.

Now i'm off to take two aspirins after making the effort to decipher Eric's latest offerings.

Toppy Grin

I agree 100% with Eric's comments, and my own should be read in that light.  After all, we still have the forum to discuss new ideas.

I would have suggested Eric Moskow as the prospective author for this site, but I cannot understand a word he is saying. His written English is appalling,if not retarded.

Should his chess be as bad we are looking at a 1000 ELO rated player; in other words his comments are worthless; the product of an ego-tripper.

Thank you to Mr Ward for producing an update-you are only 2 months behind now. Let us have some more please.

Listen guys, I am sure that eddie, I or golubov could write this column never analysed with eddie or mikhail but I can promise I have looked at many variations with chris, He is slow (no shit) but honest smart nice and every other good thing I could say about a gm, Kaidanov is my trainer and you know what he can not shine chris shoes in the dragon. I am not the last words but I would bet that over 25 years I have worked with and played as well as studied more dragons than most human beings. Please for christ sake give this guy a break. Do not beat up the good guys leave it for the jerks.

Perhaps we should consider the product as well as its timeliness.  Chris Ward is probably the most prolific author on the Dragon.  Rather than taking such draconian Wink measures as firing him, perhaps Chesspublishing could discuss a revised contract with him and the readers.  Readers get a free month extension every time Mr. Ward misses one, and Mr. Ward only gets paid for the months he contributes?  Tongue   Of course, that would probably encourage Mr. Ward to spew out rubbish quickly rather than his usual high quality work. Grin

By the way, I love this site!  This is one of only a few places where we can get specific questions answered by extremely knowledgeable experts.  And beyond just answering questions, they bring in their own inspiration and open up their work books to the public. 8)  Let's not forget how amazing this site really is.

By the way, eddie is semi retired, (lawyer now) I am coming back strong but sick patient get in the way Tony is in heaven (rip buddy) and sergey thinks the dragon is with tony so chris is a great active dragon player and I have analysed with him he can teach us all sometghing

chris is late do not spank him, he is a great guy knowledgeable and certainly knows a great deal. A gentle tickle or rib to a colleague was my point not this fury. We all like chris and a good way to get rid of all the authors is to torture or threaten a great guy. Chris should be here for life, but give us the damm update. Chris I am sorry I opened my mouth, you are the best in my opinion sorry eddie, tony john, sergey and mikhail as for the unhappy ones stow it. (yeah my english sucks

You Eddie should take it over or Golubev ,who would probably be cheaper. Then we would all be assured of an excellent service.

Whoever is managing the site take note of my remarks.

   WARD MUST GO.

Ouch! Harsh dude...

Also, who would you propose by way of a decent substitute? Not an easy choice.

I would like to add my criticism. It is nearly JULY and we have not had the May Update. This is an insult. I insist that Chris Ward be replaced immediately. He is a fine author but has no respect for his subscribers who pay his wages.
