There has been a survey on 6.Rg1 in a NIC-yearbook a couple of years ago. If I remember well, 6...Nc6 was most played.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

I think Kasparov lost to Ivanchuk in a rapid game about a couple of years ago in Moscow. But he didn't play the line you have analysed.

6...g6 has been played a bit- I don't recall many 'Dragons' with Rg1 being played !

the variation of najdorf for white which runs 1.e4, c5 2. Nf3, d6 3. d4, cd 4. Nxd4, Nf6 5.Nc3, a6 6. Rg1... Ive been researching but games are really hard to find. does anyone here know anything about it? im particularly concerned with what white is supposed to do after the supposed equalizing line-- 6.Rg1, e6 7. g4, d5 8. ed, Nxd5 9. NxN, QxN 10. Be3 and then Qa5+ followed by e5 and isnt that just bad for white? improvements?
