Thanks. The second link works fine. I don't get either why some links don't work directly (Keith Hayward).

The Leisebein site is typical BDG. Superficiality is hidden behind a wood of exclamation marks. I suppose the real BDG-aficionado can't without it. But it lacks serious discussion of 4...c6 and 5...c6 for instance.

You're right about the lack of discusion on the critical ... c6 lines, but I came away with a different take on Leisebein's site. Naturally, the games are entertaining and Leisebein's ability to conjure up tactics from nowhere impressed me. Then again, because I'm just a club player maybe I'm easily impressed.  Smiley And although he doesn't tackle the most critical lines, I think his games show how a BDG player must be tactically creative to be successful with that opening. For BDG aficionados it's a wonderful site.

Could you give link?

Sure. The reason I didn't provide the link earlier is because I had to head off to work.

http://holgerebe.gmxhome.de/dvc/englisch/theoe.html

Leisebein anotates 70 of his BDG games with both colors, though mostly with White. The site is available in both English and German.

If you cannot get that link to work try this one;

http://www.schlauweb.de/Blackmar-Diemer

Then scroll down to web links and there you'll find Leisebein's link.

I used to subscribe to BDG WORLD magazine and without a doubt it is the best source for info on BDG lines. Tom Purser's obvious dedication and love for the BDG comes through in every issue.

Another good source is Leisebein's collection of anotated games which is available for free at his website.

Just for the sake of interest, is there still any way to obtain that data?

Good grief, just email him and tell him you'd like to buy a copy. I can't understand why anyone would auction data anyway.  As if it were the current launch codes for the Russian Ballistic Missile Forces.

The seller of this CD was Tom Purser, with all the "Gambit World" archives included in. I wanted to buy it on e-bay but someone bought it just before me Sad

Wink There is a guy on Ebay that is selling CDs that appear to contain just about all that has ever been written on this Gambit. It also appears to be generating expensive bidding wars.

Try these lines:

1 d4 d5 2 e4 de4 3 Nc3 Nf6 4 Bg5 Bf5 5 Bf6 ef6 6 g4 Bg6
7 Qe2 Bb4 8 Qb5+ Nc6 9 Qxb7 the Zilbermints Attack in the Von Popiel (or Polish) Gambit
