And 1.d4 e6 2.a3!? doesn't look at all bad for White either.

The Tamarkin Counter-Gambit, 3...e5, is very tactical. Its Accepted version goes 1 d4 c5 2 Nf3 cxd4 3 b4 e5 4 Nxe5 Bxb4+ 5 c3 dc3        6 Qb3! when the line divides into 6...c2+ 7 Qxb4 cb1/Q 8 Rxb1  and 6...Qe7  

I therefore strongly suggest you look up my 2003 article in the Chessville Weekly online archives. I analyzed it pretty well there.

As for 3...e5 4 a3, the Tamarkin Counter-Gambit Declined,
well... It is not often encountered, though I have seen a few games with it. In the position, Black's d-pawns are weak, and White has compensation.

Reply to A) What happens when I play 4...a5 5.b5 d6 and 6...e5 and then develop like a Najdorf? Also, I can play 3...e6, where 4.dxc5 Bxc5 5.b4 Be7 can lead to a Hedgehog Position.

Reply to B) Again, I will just play 4...e6. I dont see what you have. And regarding your comment about White playing e4, White cannot play that easily because the black knight is already developed to f6. Nbd2 is a really weird move in the Wing Gambit...

Reply to C) 3.d5 leads to Benoni, 3.e3 leads to Colle and 3.g3...I don't know what this is called, but Black's position is okay.

And one more thing. After 1.d4 c5 2.Nf3 cxd4 3.b4 e5 4.a3 (following your moves), I can play 4...d6 again, developing like a Najdorf (Nf6, Be7, Be6, Nbd7, d5 etc)

Of course, I believe that Black is better in any of the variations, but since he keeps claiming that he has analysed the Zilbermints Benoni to a great deal and that only he knows the theory in a OTB game, I just want to show that there is a way to transpose into something people are familiar with.

Wondering, why not play 2...Nf6 after 2.Nf3 if you play the Benoni. You have the chance to transpose. If White plays 3.b4, just take the b4 pawn and transpose into Wing Gambit. I believe that Black is better here, rit?
