See that is why we only trust you with the dutch, which no rightminded person would play.

Nice game though Wink

Here is the game score:

Joseph Marcus (TRI) - Split Person

1.e4 e5
HgMan lets his pawn slip.

2.Nf3 Nc6
Smyslov_Fan plays the Petrov with the wrong knight.

3.Bc4 Nf6
Glenn Snow's fault.

4.d3 Bc5
Willempie hopes to transpose to the Evans Gambit, with which White crushed Dew Gajadin two rounds before.

5.o-o d6
Alumbrado usually plays this at an earlier stage.

6.Bg5 h6
Inn2 thinks White has played h4 in the Capablanca Variation of the Caro-Kann.

7.Bh4 g5
Markovich expects 8.Nxg5 hxg5 9.Bxg5 and 10.e5 like the Botvinnik Variation.

8.Bg3 h5
Sevenviolets plays the BDG with colours reversed.

9.h4 Bg4
TopNotch playes his beloved Ruy Lopez 180 degrees rotated.

10.c3 Nh7
Teyko has studied the KID and prepares to advance the f-pawn.

11.d4 exd4
No one to blame for this one.

11.Qd3
and in stead of relying on TalJechin, who without any doubt would have continued with Qf6, like in so many variations of the KG, I took control myself. Plagued by an identity crisis I decided the game in two moves:

11..... Bxf3;12.Qxf3 Ne5!;
1-0.

Oh dear--well, I guess we can blame that on MNb if he's the King's Gambiteer among us...

It reminds me of the story, no doubt apocryphal, alas, of the master who, arriving at the board very late, decided to plunge into ealy complications to bring the game to a head before time trouble kicked in.

While hunting in his bag for a pen to record the moves, he reached for his e-pawn to open the game - but accidentally moved his f-pawn two squares instead.  Looking up, he saw that his opponent had played 1...e5 in response so, heading for a King's Gambit, he picked up what he thought was his f-pawn and boldly thrust it forward two squares.  To his horror, just as he was composing himself for the struggle ahead, his opponent crashed out 2...Qh4# ...

Actually it was not me, who lost in less than 15 moves a couple of days ago, but my alias Alumbrado. What else could I have expected, Alumbrado playing the Two Knights Defense? Or was it Glenn Snow? Wait, of course, it was HgMan pushing his e-pawn to far!

Me?  Never!  That's more Glenn's cup of tea...  Or am I Glenn today?  (I'm getting a headache).  And if you wind up playing a Grob, it was me looking to play 1 f4, but my hand slipped...

I have played the odd Two Knights' Defence in my time.  At least you have not (yet) got me playing the Dutch ...

No we don't!  Wait!  Yes we do!

Jokes aside, I thought I would give my French a break and try a Pirc/Modern hybrid in a new cc tournament about to start.  For what it's worth, I was also preparing a reversed I-Z for White.  So maybe there is something to this...

I/we have an amazingly diverse opening repertoire if we are really all the same person ...

Actually because of name duplication there are really only 13 different registered users here at the forum.  Hgman, Alumbrado, MNb, and I think myself are all the same person (at least on the second Tuesday of every month).

Both "emoskow" and "eric_moskow" posted in the Dragon forum on the same day (August 6).

Eric, are they both you?

Does anyone remember the "Kasparov vs. the World" game on the internet?  Numerous imposters posted bogus messages, some of them very sick.

I'm sure many people have multiple names.  For example, TopNotch and Markovich are actually the same person. Grin

Shocked That one's hilarious.

Do you know any other anecdotes?

Postscript: I suspect Eric Moskow was his guest name, and EMoskow is his registered one. I don't think its an imposter at work, after all, its hard to duplicate Eric's rather unique grammatical style if you know what I mean.  Wink

Really? TN and Markovich disagree so often - if it is the same person, he must have a split personality!
