Hy, I would like to play Bd7 like you, but as you and Golubev suggest in the book "Experts against the sicilan" the line Bd7 is now quoted ?! there is also the problem 10.g4 Rç8 11.Kb1 Ne5 12.Be2! (a idea of GM Korneev) and now what black can play ? Golubev says there is only the dubious gambit b5, but he dont believe in it ...

Thanks Lost Highway.  I guess there are not any exciting suggestions for black after 8...Bd7 9.000 00 10.h4 Rc8 11.g4 Ne5 12.Be2! because none have been found, unless someone is waiting to spring a new approach over the board. Until then...

In the line given to start this topic, white plays h5 on his 12th move.  But if 12.Be2 instead, what is black to do?  I asked this in another topic and got no answers or suggestions, other than to not play 8...Bd7 9.000 00.

Those are actually very good answers and suggestions because when white plays 9.O-O-O, a black bishop on d7 won't scare white and tends to just get in black's way.

Golubev,

What do you think about the line GM Pert played where he delayed castling, and plays ...b5 and maybe also ...h5. with Rc8. In that game white coudl have played Qxb4 and reach an unclear position when black sacrifices.

But, what do you think aout that line anyway.

It seems that Black has problems there.

I would say the bar far the majority of Dragon players are familiar with it but still don't know what to recommend after 15.Kb1!.  Mr.Dearing wasn't sure in his "Play the Sicilian Dragon".  I looked at Chessbase's free database for games that might shed some light on possible improvements for Black.  There were two recent games with 15.Kb1 which were drawn but White didn't follow up correctly in either one of them (based on analysis from Dearing's book).  It would be great to find something there as 9...Bd7 is a useful weapon to have to play for a win.
