Although Anand losing two games in a row at short time-control, with white to boot, certainly make me sit up and take notice.  Smiley

Oh i highly doubt that it will ever scare him SF as he has killed it many many times before. Fear i dont associate with anand at all actually as he remains one of the most dominant players of our life time. And when i am an old chess coach one day i will probley show how he had such great command of the board from beginning to end.

Thanks for the games, nyaGM!

I've seen this sort of thing happen in many tournaments.  A player finds a novelty that challenges a prominent opponent's repertoire, and that player (Anand in this case) just doesn't have time to fix it.  He chooses a second- or third-best move (such as 5.Bd3 probably is) and gets trounced a second time.

Don't fool yourselves into thinking the French will scare Anand, but let's see what improvements he comes up with!

Maybe  a chink has finally been found in his armour and the french can live with out fear of the indian chess god known as Vishy.

Hard to believe. The second game is a blitz tiebreak, I think, while the first game is rapid.
