Hey Eric,

Are you still going to play the event in Berkeley in a few weeks? I'm wondering since you said yes a few weeks ago, but then didn't list it here on your future plans!

Lost - if Eric posts his game incorrectly, so what? Sure, it'd help if he did post more coherently, and it's a little annoying when he doesn't, but you seem to be approaching this from a wrong perspective. Namely, you seem to feel that you have a right to have access to Eric's games through this forum. It's a public forum insofar as anyone can read it; furthermore, there are no specific 'standards' of grammar that people are expected to have. As such, all you have a right to see is what other people decide they want to share with the world. That's it. So whining about notation - especially when you can perfectly easily decipher what the right moves are - and attacking Eric's professional behaviour (I don't care if it was sarcasm or not, what you said was incredibly offensive) is pathetic, frankly. Get over yourself.

Now let's get back to some chess, shall we?

First statement = Very commendable.  No comment about your second statement.  As for your third statement, I did not say anything about your English skills, just your imprecise chess notation.  Good luck.

This is an opening site not a games analysis site, the result was sealed against marcel early, my endgame while extremely instructive can be obtained on chessbase, the week in chess and icc. If you have a chess axe to grind with me have to, otherwise please do not waste my time. Their will be no next response. I attempt to share my knowledge while limited it could help somebody.

79 moves, for example, would be "minus 80" while 81 moves would be an example of "plus 80". C'mon, even an old country boy from Kentucky can understand that.

Your theory is plausible.  It is very difficult to say "i won in 79 moves" or "i won in 92 moves".  It's much easier to say "i won in 80 plus or minus".  Then again, some people may think that "plus or minus 80" added on to the 27 moves already made would produce a game 107 moves long...plus or minus.   Wink

look lost highway, I do not know your identity, I really do not need to defend myself. I am a part time chessplayer who seems to perform ok against decent players ie recent wins against lugo, martinez draws defermian, young, matlzakoyan, as well as huge performance at gausdal. I published the dragon book with miles no chessbase then. I have another life being a very successful doc. I give tens of thousands of dollars supporting chess here and abroad. I post on this site in between patients. I get that my english sucks, vassar clearly did a poor job. In the end if my posts are bad and your such a pro just ignore me . I am clearly not worth the fuss. Anyone else just giggle and beat up the substance not the bullsh-t.

That's true.  He probably meant 10.ed5 since 10.cd5 is impossible.  I don't like to have to decipher incorrect notation.  To Doctor Moskow's credit, he is not the worst offender.  And, assuming the rest of his game score is accurate, he played quite well.  I'm still trying to decode what he meant at the end where he says "i won in plus or minus 80"  Plus or minus 80 what?  80 moves?  If so, how can you win in minus 80 moves?

Lost, to say that you are being needlessly antagonistic would be an understatement.  It is a trivial task to determine what the proper game score is.

As far as chess is concerned, I've never understood 12...Nxc3.  It seems the worst of Black's three main options.

Doctor Moskow - Can't you quote your own game correctly?  What does "10.cd" mean?  10.cd5 or 10.Nxd5?  Is this the way you write prescriptions for your patients?

I can't find the game on ICC (there only seem to be gamescores for the first 3 rounds) so can you post the Moscow-Martinez game? I'm interested to see how Martinez went down, as he seemed to play a nice game on the black side of a Dragon against Schneider a month ago.

Well done Mr. Moskow, keep up the good work.

However I have one small grouse, how about winning with the Dragon rather than beating up on it. Sad
