Thanks.  I missed that.  So, 9...Rc8 10.g4 Ne5 11.h4 h5 12.g5 Nh7 13.Kb1 looks nice for white.

@I need to know: The move order is 7...Nc6 and 8...Bd7. You delay castling, at least initially.

Since I published a game of myself in NIC-yearbook 48, nobody has dared to play 10.g4 h5 anymore. Is that a coincidence? I played 10.g4 h5 11.g5 Nh7 12.f4 o-o 13.Be2 (recommendation by Tiviakov) Re8 14.f5 Ne5 15.Rdf1.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Maybe 10.g4 h5!? is interesting 11.g5 Nh7 seems like we'll transpose to the main line of the system after when white plays h4.

10.g4 Ne5 11.Bh6!? went very well for White in Van der Wiel-Wessel, NED 2000: Bxh6 12.Qxh6 Qa5 13.Qe3.
10.Kb1 Qa5 11.Nb3 Qc7 might be playable for Black.

Well... IMHO Black have serious problems in this line...

Tiviakov has promoted it in 1997 after publishing an article in New in Chess yearbook. Featuring his wins over GM Korneev in Jakarta open (Indonesia). And his loss to Xie Jun...

Black has 3 (4) moves to choose from...

10.Nxc6 - doesn't pose any problems for Black. 10... bxc6 11.Bxa7 - leaves two semiopen files "a" and "b" for Black... Unfortunately, Ba7 can't be trapped with 11... c5...

10.h4 answered with 10... h5  O'key for Black 11.g4 Ne5

10.g4    permits 10... Ne5 and the drawback of g4 becomes obvious - Knight can't be attacked with moves like f4, since it leaves Black square g4...

10.Kb1!?  The move which made me leave this line...  Black is run out of useful moves. Black has to castle short. 10... 0-0   If somebody is interested I may post some analysis...

I have Martin's Starting Out book and i think it's quite good. There Martin thinks that black's best chance lies in the 8..Bd7 system in the Yugoslav so after 9.O-O-O black plays  9..Rc8 delaying castling the way Tiviakov plays. So far so good... Even if i fear that in some variations black has some problems there ,i have an even simpler thought. What if white play g4,Be2 and Kb1 just wauting by doing usefull moves? If black castles short then we are back at the 8..O-O and 9..Bd7 systems (this variation is under the thread "a critical test to black's idea") so black wins nothing by delaying castling. Do i miss something? Help plese....
