Dear friend!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your warm and friendly words. I really appreciate what you say and like the spirit that shines through your words.
I think, I have managed to work out your fine analogy  Wink

And, yes, many thanks again!

Yours,
Michael

'Entitled' is the right word here.
In my opinion you have a right to know what is being said about you and I distrust all arguments agaisnt this. That does not mean that Chris Ward should publish his analysis on this forum, only that he should let the player concerned have access to what is written about him/his play... (as any gentleman would do 'by himself').

And as to the 'copyright' angle : your picture will always be yours in this respect, although the greater part of them will not be taken by yourself, and it is another persons artistry that accounts for the good result (very clearly so where it concerns portraits of myself). I'll leave it to you to work out the analogy...

Hi to everyone on the forum!
Well, I must confess on second thought, I have clearly underestimated all possible implications of my proposal. And, Scholar, of course I would not like this great forum and its users to suffer in any way.

I agree with the  view that posting the contents in question here in the forum would not be okay.
But I hope it is clear from my first post that this was never my intention!

So if anyone feels they would like to contact me on that issue, just send me a mail:

Michael_Arounopoulos@yahoo.de

From my point of view, the issue is settled and I would like to thank everyone who has devoted time and energy to react!

Cheers to all of you,
Michael

Rereading my post, it comes across as a lot harsher than I intended.  I just don't want the forum to be shut down because chesspub feels that it's being used to post the monthly updates here, since I find this forum as valuable as the updates themselves (which I do not currently even get for this section).  There's nothing wrong with Michael getting a copy of the game, and I think that the analogy he gives is fine, but that's very different from posting it here for all to see.  Cheers.

Just in case I was misunderstood:
1) I do NOT blame anyone of violating copyrights of my game in question, especially not Chris Ward, who just was kind enough to read the posts in the forum, discovered my post titled "A note for Mr. Chris Ward" and then obviously must have thought this particular game to be worthy of analysis and subsequent publishing.

2) I do NOT say that I am entitled to get access to the aforementioned published analysis; all I am saying is, that, being one of the players involved and not being a subscriber myself, it would be nice if someone would one way or another give me a chance to learn about what Chris Ward has written.
I think it's comparable to lending a chess magazine to a friend who would otherwise not have a chance to read an interesting article.

So if anyone would like to do me this favour, feel free to contact me here, I will gladly share my e-mail-address with them.

Thanks in advance for any trouble you might be taking.

What? Why would the poster be 'entitled' to Chris Ward's work, which is sold on chesspublishing.com?

There's a good chance that if he e-mailed Ward (or Kosten) directly, he might get the desired response, but I don't think that it's a good idea (or fair to chesspub) to post analysis from the chesspub site on the forum (just because a non-subscriber wants access).

Moreover, chess games are not copyright -- not in the US and probably not anywhere.  However, published analysis of the games would be.

Well, different laws in my country (copyright, protection of privacy ...) would state that you are entitled to that information, as you are concerend, so I will backup your request.

Hi,everybody and especially to the subscribers !

When checking Chris Ward's February update of his Dragon page, I was pleased and astonished to find my own game mentioned there (i.e. AFEK-AROUNOPOULOS). Now the problem is, as I am (not yet) a subscriber to chesspublishing.com, I haven't got the chance to read Mr.Ward's comments on the game.
Is there any chance a subscriber might somehow let me know what is being said? Of course I am dying with curiosity! Would be very kind! Thanks to anyone in advance.
Cheers,Michael
