Oh, 11...c5.

No Shirov games with 12. Nbd2.  (The White players in the cited games are Lutz, Kasparov [twice], Akopian, Kramnik, Sutovsky, Anand, Adams, and of course Topalov.)

The whole article is about three pages (a bit smaller than standard letter size, three columns per page) ...

I assume

11.Ba2  but then ____  ?

and here--

12.Nbd2

She uses the Topalov game as main line in this game... OK.  But does she include any games from Shirov in this line  (12.Nbd2)  ?

And how many pages of material does she cover?  I want to get an idea of how thourough she is with that line.

Wink

It covers 12. Nc3 and 12. Nbd2; it seems to give the nod to the latter, portraying it as leading to a very slight edge for White.  The main game it follows is Topalov-Kasimdzhanov, San Luis 2005.  There are about 8 other game excerpts quoted in the 12. Nbd2 line.

Greetings,

I heard there is an article in the US Magazine titled "Chess Life"  which has an article on this very interesting line.  The article written by Susan Polgar in either the March or April issue.   Does anybody have this article?

If you do can someone tell me what is recommended or what is discussed in the following line-- ?

  1. e4 e5        2. Nf3 Nc6
  3. Bb5 a6      4. Ba4 Nf6
  5. O-O Be7   6. Re1 b5
  7. Bb3 O-O   8. h3 Bb7
  9. d3 d6       10. a3 Na5

I have no way of having access to that magazine or issue, unless someone here can tell me if I can purchase it on the web.

Thank you in advance.
