Well, nobody asked me, but if they did this would be my reply:
If, as a devoted chess player with programming skills, you chose to develop chess software that is: 1. Not an attempt to recruit forum members as your unpaid or unwitting beta-testers. 2. Fully functional and bug-free. 3. Is available for free in its fully functional iteration, then I would say that qualifies as you expressing your love of chess, trying to contribute to the passion, and it ought to be allowable on this forum to distribute it, gratis. But with the permission of site-owners.

However, anything that involves profit for you or yours, was not actually developed by you but by some 3rd party, or is an attempt to recruit beta-testers without them knowing that is their role is inappropriate. But if you feel otherwise, feel free to appeal to the site-owners and then abide by their decision. You can always post your reviews of chess products for the benefit of forum members; the many book reviews on this site are a testament to that.  But not distribute it. The site already has products or services of its own it distributes. My two-cent's worth.

Hi,

We wrote an app  Cheesy ( chesscoach.network ) to help chess players analyze their common mistakes in the early game and help them improve. We wanted to know what you think about it.

Is it ok for me to open a new thread and post it there?

Thanks!

The best thing to do is to contact Tony Kosten directly.

I want to make a tournament. Is this good free program :

swissonlinetournament.com/

Is there the possibility of taking a bye in the tournament? As a local chess club tournament manager (xD) is very very common.

Thx

PD: I am using right now http://chessmanager.com/ that allows you to use byes.

Before you can send the administration a PM you must make a post.

I guess most of the people nowdays use the adblock extension so ads become less efficient.

Perhaps someone could volunteer to help SF 'police' here. He's on his own.

That's not entirely true, as there is me as well. As soon as I see the bots I just ban and delete them and their posts. Smiley

Spam, certainly.
Mod - delete. It's fine to do so - there's no Rachelle discrimination.

In English, Rachelle means spam apparently.

This could be a spambot. getting around the minimum posts by doing a search based on the thread title and posting the results.
