I honestly think that the line is worthless.  White just weakens his kingside even more and he can't get castled queenside for several more moves.  I have looked at a g3 in the King's Gambit, but it just doesn't seem to fit.

I seriously doubt that it's worth looking into. Have you tried feeding it to fritz?

Anyway, I found 2 games with it:

In his book "Breviaire des echecs" Tartakower mentions an unknown line of the king's gambit accepted called Chatard gambit (1. e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Nf3 g5 4.g3?!).
In my database (Chess Assistent 8.1) there are no games with this line.
Do you know any game with this gambit? What do you think about it?
The only line given by Tartakower is 4...fxg3 5.hxg3 g4 6.Ne5 d5 7.d4 with good chances Cool Cool
