What do you think about this line?
What is the best for black and white? Would you play it as black? Why?
I play 5...Na5 as black but i found that all the white player know everything about the theory in this line, so it is difficult try to win or draw with the line and i dont see the attack for the sacrified pawn. I need other....and i found 5...Nd4
Thanks
This is called the Fritz Variation (
5...Nd4). I think it's a good alternative to the better known
5...Na5 lines provided, of course, you know what to play/avoid. I often play the Ulvestad Variation
5...b5 which can transpose into the Fritz variation after
6.Bf1 Nd4 -- some people prefer this move-order but it comes at the cost of learning White's other responses to
5...b5.
There is some discussion of the Fritz Variation in an earlier thread:
