1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 c5 3.e3 g6!? 4.dxc5!? Qa5+ 5.Nbd2 Qxc5 6.a3!?  I analysed many years ago as an interesting way forward for White - not sure any new ideas have happened here.

3...g6!? is certainly a confrontational reply, but I suspect it may not be the best move.

Thank you, John, that hits the spot.

Pity the next player who tries 3.e3?! against me.

In one of the ChessPub Guides (uploaded 12/12/2004 in the Nimzo/Benoni Section), John Emms says to meet 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 c5 3.e3 he is "going to look at a Kingside fianchetto" 3...g6.

I can't find any examination of this line in the Benoni section.  Anyone have any tips on how to locate whatever game Emms used to examine this line?

Thanks

Hi!

Just checked this out  - it was covered way back in February 2002! You can locate it under Anti-Colle in the pgn search (ECO code A43).
